What does the program participation fee cover?

It covers:
- lectures
- speaker-related transport
- speaker-related food and accommodation
- program administration
Program participation fee does not include accommodation, food or local transportation for students.
What does the accommodation fee cover?
Section titled “What does the accommodation fee cover?”The ¥120,000 accommodation fee is a fixed fee.
It covers:
- accommodation
- Wi-Fi
- utilities
- shared household consumables
The accommodation fee is paid in cash.
What does the community meal fee cover?
Section titled “What does the community meal fee cover?”The ¥72,000 community meal fee is a fixed fee.
It covers:
- weekday lunches
- weekday dinners
- break-time refreshments
The community meal fee is paid in cash and does not include breakfasts or weekend meals.
Are food and local transportation included?
Section titled “Are food and local transportation included?”Weekday lunches, dinners and break-time refreshments are included in the separate community meal fee.
Breakfasts, weekend meals, and local transportation are not included in any fee.
Students should budget approximately ¥78,000 for breakfasts. weekend meals, and local transportation for the whole school.
This amount is an estimate rather than a fixed fee. Actual spending may be higher or lower depending on personal circumstances and spending habits.
Is outreach included in the school fee?
Section titled “Is outreach included in the school fee?”For DTS, outreach is budgeted separately from the lecture phase.
The current estimated DTS outreach cost is ¥400,000.

- outreach destination
- flights
- accommodation

- other outreach-related expenses
DBS does not currently include an outreach phase.
What personal expenses should I budget for?

Students should normally budget separately for expenses such as:
- toiletries
- clothing
- snacks and personal food
- SIM cards and phone costs
- medical expenses
- personal activities and entertainment
Are travel costs included?
Section titled “Are travel costs included?”Personal travel to and from Japan is not included in the school costs.
Students should budget separately for:
- international flights to and from Japan
- visa-related costs
- travel insurance
- personal travel
- other travel outside school requirements
If a particular school has different arrangements, the school-specific instructions take precedence.
