Payment Schedule

Students are responsible not only for understanding school costs, but also for paying them on time. This page explains the current payment schedule for YWAM Sendai schools and highlights which payments must be made before arrival and which must be paid in cash on site.

This page focuses on payment timing. For the full cost structure, see the school costs page.

This page is for students who have been accepted to a YWAM Sendai school or who are preparing financially before arrival.

This page covers:

  • deposit timing
  • pre-arrival payment deadlines
  • on-site cash payment timing
  • outreach payment timing where applicable
  • the importance of communicating about payment issues early

Payment timing is important because YWAM Sendai uses these payments to prepare for:

  • accommodation
  • school operations
  • outreach logistics
  • staffing and administration

Late or unclear payments can create practical difficulties for both the student and the school.

  • Deposit amount (counted toward tuition): ¥100,000
  • Deposit due: upon acceptance
  • Remaining tuition balance due: ¥200,000, due 10 days before the school start date
  • Accommodation payment due: ¥120,000, on arrival or registration day, in cash
  • Outreach payment due (DTS, where applicable): 1 month before outreach, in cash

What should students understand about this schedule?

Section titled “What should students understand about this schedule?”

Students should not assume that all payments can be delayed until arrival.

In particular:

  • the deposit is due upon acceptance
  • the remaining tuition balance is due before the school begins
  • the accommodation payment must be paid in cash on arrival or registration day
  • outreach payments must be made in cash before the outreach phase

What should students do if they may have difficulty paying on time?

Section titled “What should students do if they may have difficulty paying on time?”

Students should communicate with YWAM Sendai as early as possible if they expect difficulty meeting a payment deadline.

Do not wait until after a deadline has passed if you already know there may be a problem.

Early communication is important because it allows time for:

  • clarification
  • planning
  • possible adjustment
  • avoiding unnecessary confusion

Can students arrive before resolving payment questions?

Section titled “Can students arrive before resolving payment questions?”

Students should not assume that unresolved payment issues can simply be sorted out after arrival.

If there is uncertainty about:

  • how much is due
  • when it is due
  • how it should be paid
  • whether cash is required

students should clarify this with YWAM Sendai before travel whenever possible.

For information about refunds, cancellations, or leaving a school early, see:

What should students do after making a payment?

Section titled “What should students do after making a payment?”

After making a payment, students should follow any required payment notification process so the finance team can identify and record the payment correctly.
